First, I have to state I'm definitely not a doctor, or anything related to that. These tips just worked and still work really well for me! So you're welcome if you want to try them out!

1. Wash your face every morning and evening. This seems obvious but it really does work. Take a warm, wet washcloth (not too hot!) and gently rub your face with it. The warm water removes such things as sweat, dust and unremoved make-up and helps to keep your pores clean.

2. Buy a flask of 76 % alcohol for medical use (not the 96 %, the high concentration of alcohol can be very harmful for your skin). You can purchase these flasks by your local pharmacy. Take a cotton pad and drench it carefully in alcohol. Rub your face, or chest with the pad to decrease the chance on break-outs. Don't do this too often! The alcohol also removes the skin's natural oil, so your skin gets dry if you do this every day. Also don't rub the area around your eyes. It burns (I can tell).

3. Sleep on a pillowcase made of real silk, or 100% cotton. Avoid pillowcases made of polyester, or other synthetic fibers. Your skin gets, or could get sweaty and oily, which increases the chance on getting break-outs.

4. Don't touch your face and chest too often throughout the day. Your hands are always a little dirty, or carry germs with them. Also you could rub dirt that's already on your face, or chest into the skin's pores. And we don't want that to happen, now do we?

5.  Eat less sugar. Not only processed sugar, like granulated sugar, but also natural sugar, like the sugar that's in apples, bananas, etc. (all sorts of fruit).  I always notice my skin's so much clearer and healthier when I lower my suger intake.

6. Drink more water. I know, this sounds dull because water doesn't really taste that great but it works. If you want to, you can add things like strawberries, or blueberries (fruits with a strong taste), or cucumber to give the water a nicer and sweeter taste. Your skin gets more hydrated and less dry. Chapped skin? What chapped skin?

7. Take in capsules of fish oil. Fish oil contains omega 3, which is amongst other things good for your skin.

8. Don't use any make-up, such as foundation and concealer, that's already a few months old, or that's passed it's expiration date.

After a few days or weeks your skin should get better. My skin definitely did! Below you can find a list of oils that are good for your skin (via glamour.com).
