Since studying isn't something the bigger part of us like to do (at least I don't), here are a few tips that always work for me to make studying a little easier and more fun. :)
So stay positive, you can do this!
1. This is my number one tip, since this is something I struggle with: START ON TIME. Whenever you have to study for a test, don't try to prepare for it the night before. I really won't work. This might seem obvious, but we all know this happens a lot more than we anticipated. Start 2-3 days earlier - at least. It will decrease your level of stress, since you'll have time enough to prepare and divide the matter you have to study.
2. Do not, I repeat, do not drink too much coffee. This is something I tend to do, since I like drinking coffee wile studying (is that weird?). Most of the time the caffeine gives me a horrible headache afterwards, so I can't concentrate anymore. Try to drink tea or water instead.
3. If you're getting tired of studying, take a break. Text your friends, go outside, take a nap, or a shower, which works great too. Anything to get your mind to do something else for a while. Afterwards, you'll be able to concentrate better.
4. Pick out an album of one of your favorite artists or put together a playlist of songs you like. Make the playlist as long as you tend to study. When all the songs have been played, you know exactly how long you've been studying and you can take a break.
5. Promise yourself to do something fun as a reward for studying, like - in my case - watching an episode of Teen Wolf. This might sound a little childish, but believe me, it works!
6. When studying vocabulary, use a word trainer. By typing in the words you have to concentrate on putting the letters in the right order, so you'll learn the words quicker.
7. Do not study until midnight or even longer than that. Quit studying at least an hour before you're going to sleep. Give your brain a chance to process everything you've studied. You'll still remember the things you've studied, but you'll be a lot less tired the next day!
8. Whenever you can't seem to find the right answer to a question, move on to the next one. Big chance you'll remember the right answer later on.
9. Create yourself a sort of basket filled with treats, like your favorite cookies or chewing gum, for example. I've noticed I can concentrate a lot better when I have something to eat, or chew on.
10. Make sure your desk is cleaned up and organised. It's a lot nicer to study in an organised environment!
